FAQs and Policies

Please review our frequently asked questions and don’t hesitate to reach out withany additional questions or concerns.

Can I stop by for a tour?

Yes! Please call or email to schedule your private tour. We cannot guaranty unannounced tour requests due to Campsite busyness. Please do not bring your dog with you for the tour. Please schedule a free, comprehensive pet evaluation day for them at which time you are welcome to tour the facility.

Do I have to bring my dog for an evaluation before boarding or day care?

Yes. We require first-time Campers to complete a free Comprehensive Evaluation before any day care or boarding reservations can be accepted. Comprehensive (4=hour) Boarding Evaluations are scheduled on Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesdays between 8am-12pm. Spaces are limited. Comprehensive (Full Day) Day Care Evaluations are scheduled on Monday and Friday. Spaces are limited.

What is your vaccination policy?

For dogs, we require full completion of Rabies, Bordetella, and DHPP vaccines. We recommend the Canine Influenza Vaccine (CIV) and consider the Rattlesnake vaccine (just as an added precaution since we are located on 16 wooded acres).

For cats, we require FVRCP and Rabies.

How old does my dog have to be to attend?

Pups must be at least 16 weeks old and have fully completed the required vaccinations.

Do you allow intact pets?

No. All pets over 18 months must be spayed or neutered unless medically exempt supported by veterinarian’s letter. Breeder contracts or show dogs are not exempt.

Can I check in on my pet?

Absolutely! We send personalized report cards with updates and photos, but you may also text during regular business hours for additional information or updates.

When do I drop off and pick up my dog for boarding?

Just like a hotel reservation and to ensure your pet’s room is fully sanitized and ready for their arrival, please drop them off in the afternoon. Also, like a hotel reservation, please plan to pick up your boarding Camper in the morning, before noon, adhering to specified hours.

After-hours pick-ups (after 6:30 pm on Monday-Friday, after 12 pm on Saturday, or after 6 pm on Sunday) will automatically incur a $45 late fee. No exceptions. There are absolutely no pick-ups allowed after 7 pm on Monday-Friday or after 6:30 on Sunday at which time the facility access gates are locked.

Do I bring my own food?

We encourage you to bring your own food to maintain consistency in your pet’s diet. Please pre-portion dry kibble into individual food bags, labeled with your pup’s name. Canned food can remain as is. We have refrigerators and freezers for any pre-packaged meals, toppers, or treats needing refrigeration. Label everything with your pet’s name. If you forget food or if your pet runs out during their boarding stay, we will serve our premium in-house food, Fromm’s Gold, according to your instructions. Cost: $5/day.

Can I bring my own dog bedding or toys?

As part of luxury boarding perks, we provide Kuranda elevated beds. However, you can bring your own bedding if you prefer. We launder all bedding as needed so we cannot accept oversized or overly complicated-to-reassemble bedding.

Toys from home can be a familiar comfort. Please note that we do not allow rawhides or rope toys as they can be a choking hazard. If you choose to bring anything from home, please label it and understand that we cannot promise that your items will be returned in the condition it arrived. We always try our best!

Can you administer medication?

Yes. Our staff can administer pet medications and can safely store any meds needing refrigeration. Medications, vitamins, supplements, etc. need to remain in the original containers or packages with name, dosage, dosing instructions, and condition being treated. You may pre-sort in medication boxes.

How do you know if dogs will get along with each other?

Each dog must complete a comprehensive evaluation prior to boarding or attending day care. This process allows us to recommend the safest, most rewarding experience for each dog.

How much playtime will my dog receive?

We believe dogs need physical and mental breaks from social interactions and activities, just like humans! Our playgroups are carefully crafted to meet the needs of individual dogs and ensure a harmonious pack. Pups receive at least four daily playtimes.

We utilize constant play rotations in consideration of a variety of factors to include energy level, weather, etc.
High energy dogs need extra play time while geriatric Campers often prefer just a potty break followed by a stroll back to their kennel to be a spectator or receive snuggles.

In cooler weather, rotations have longer durations. Whenever it’s too hot or cold, rotations are shorter and more frequent.

What happens when it rains?

We love to play in light rain! However, if there is thunder or lightning, dogs are moved to their individual, indoor/outdoor, climate-controlled kennels where they can rest to calming music or enjoy fun add-on options.

How do you know which playgroup my dog will do best in?

Like humans, each dog has their own personality and comes from a unique background. For this reason, we have designed several programs to cater to the needs of most dogs. We provide smaller playgroups and one-on-one attention with a member of our pet care team. We also offer multiple boarding packages that include fun activities and relaxing amenities.

My dog gets nervous when they stay away from home. What do you offer that can help with that?

We offer an Anxious Dog boarding package with high quality CBD oil (drops or chews) + extra TLC time with Canine Caregivers and a yummy lick mat. We always keep a close eye on all anxious Campers.

What is your policy regarding aggressive or reactive dogs?

The safety and well-being of our staff as well as our Campers is paramount. So, while we accept dogs that are dog-reactive or dog-aggressive, we cannot accept dogs that exhibit any signs of human-aggression. All Campers must be people friendly. And while we accept reactive dogs, their pet evaluation may determine that they don’t qualify for group play. Our goal for every dog is to provide an enjoyable and rewarding Dog Camp experience. If your pet is accepted and then exhibits any signs of aggression to people, you will be notified, and the pet must be picked up. Any injury or damage to people or property will be the owner’s responsibility.

What happens if my dog gets sick or injured?

If we notice your dog displaying any symptoms or abnormal behavior, exhibiting any signs of pain or distress, we will make him/her comfortable in quiet, private accommodations and call you immediately. If we are unable to reach you or feel any situation is urgent, we will take them to Wildflower Animal Hospital, 1 1⁄2 miles away. All veterinary visits are paid for by Dog Camp and billed to you at the end of your pet’s stay.

Please remember that dogs, not facilities, spread germs. As with humans, the more dogs are around others and exposed to new environments, the higher the likelihood of them establishing robust immune systems that will improve resiliency.
