The Faces Behind Dog Camp

Claudia Valdez and Frankie

Owner

Memorable Moment:

My most memorable Dog Camp moment was when I first got to walk through the property and got to see all the happy dogs playing in the yards. Fell in love with Dog Camp that day.

Superpower:

My superpower is that I’m able to remain calm in high stress situations.

Caryl Fonseca and Remi

Owner

Memorable Moment:
I love seeing our Campers break free from their issues, fears, reactions, etc. It is so rewarding to see them happy and flourishing at Dog Camp when they were once exiled, sad, and misunderstood.

Superpower:
I throw a pretty interactive and fun Christmas party.

Art Fonseca and Havoc

Owner

Memorable Moment:
Besides watching the magic happen at Dog Camp -all day- everyday, Art had a proud dog dad moment watching Havoc take the first run on Dog Camp’s lure course!

Superpower:
Art can herd cats, simultaneously wear multiple hats, and is Dog Camp’s waymaker!

Eva San Martin with Leeloo and Suki

General Manager

Memorable Moments:
My funniest moments are the times Campers have “pantsed” me out in the play yards.

Superpower:
My superpower is my ability to hear my name every time l walk into a room.

Andrea Sosa and Magic

Assistant Manager

Memorable Moment:

My most memorable Dog Camp moment was when I first got to walk through the property and got to see all the happy dogs playing in the yards. Fell in love with Dog Camp that day.

Superpower:

I can fit through doggie doors!

Diana Jaco with Sosuke, Luna and Abby

Day Care Manager

Memorable Moments:
My most memorable Dog Camp moment was when Lilly (Daycare’s lovable Pittie) stole the scrunchie out of my hair!

Superpower:
My superpower is my silly but effective communication using guinea pig-like sound effects.

Cheri Tastch and Charli

Senior Kennel Tech

Memorable Moment:
We had a puppy camper with loose baby teeth. When the teeth fell out, we made his bed with a pillow and put the puppy teeth under the pillow so the tooth fairy could come. Sure enough, she came and she left him treats!

Superpower:
I’m kind of like Dr. Doolittle!

Kasch Drewitz and Hazel

Senior Kennel Tech

Memorable Moment:
My most memorable moment so far was my first time at daycare, Tillie toppled me when we met and my whole face was covered in her slobber!

Secret superpower:
I can walk on my hands, like 10 yards!

Vic Everett and Laika

Kennel Tech

Memorable Moment:
My most memorable Dog Camp moment would have to be when the dogs that make other people nervous get really happy and excited to see me.

Superpower:
My super power is always finding exactly what I’m looking for at the grocery store.

Stephany Jaco with Bodhi

Kennel Tech

Memorable Moment:
I have a lot of meaningful moments but I really liked last year’s Christmas party!

Superpower:
“Communicating” with the dogs is my superpower! I love having conversations with them…especially the talkative ones.

Heather Khan with Turk and Henri

Kennel Tech

Memorable Moment:
I love seeing the pups come in so excited to spend the day at Dog Camp. Sometimes they are pretty shy in the beginning and it’s lovely to see them blossom and gain confidence with their new friends.

Superpower:
I’m pretty intuitive about figuring out which play group a new pup will fit in with. I’m also really good at spraying myself straight in the face with the hose at least once a shift.

Lucy Thornberg with Beretta

Kennel Tech

Memorable Moment:
My coworkers and management are some of the hardest working and wonderful people. My favorite memories are always getting to cuddle with a new dog. When I’m going through something emotional, there’s nothing that helps more than sitting in a run with a dog and getting kisses and cuddles to cheer me up.

Superpower:
My superpower is definitely my Jennifer Coolidge impression. I practiced it for 5 whole shifts with only the dogs before I started doing it around my friends, family, and coworkers. The dogs are a great audience, they only give you a side eye occasionally!

Marissa Duarte

Kennel Tech

Memorable Moment:
My most memorable Dog Camp moment so far was when four small dogs tried to fit on my lap all at once for cuddle time!

Superpower:
My superpower is that I feel deep empathy for animals and people.

Kianah Gonzalez with Bingo

Kennel Tech

Memorable Moment:
I had an older dog, Nicki who sadly passed. Nicki was a very big inspiration for me to join Dog Camp! She is forever in my heart and motivates me to work hard everyday!
One meaningful experience occurred the day before my bday. I couldn’t be there on my actual bday but regardless I still received a delicious cake and nice gifts!

Superpower:
I can draw! I mostly draw digitally but sometimes I don’t finish any of my projects and just keep coming up with new ideas.

Lori Voss and Triscuit

Kennel Tech

Memorable Moment:
Giving an anxious dog a massage and having them relax enough to sit then lie down and settle.

Superpower:
Making chocolate disappear.

Colleen Moreau and Tara

Groomer Consultant

Memorable Moment:
My most memorable moment was coming out of retirement from my 11 years of grooming service to Dog Camp to once again work for Dog Camp as a Consultant/ Groomer. This is an amazing establishment I work for because of their values and dedication to pet care.

Superpower:
Colleen’s superpower is her communication skills with pet parents to ensure she understands their grooming expectations.
